PHONE2PARK SHUTDOWN

Thank you for using phone2park. As you may well know, phone2park has been directed by Wellington City Council to close on 7 January 2019.

This was never our choice, and we certainly made our submissions to Wellington City Council to defend this. Despite a petition and appeals at a number of levels to persuade WCC that closing phone2park is not in the public’s (nor WCC’s) interest, we have been unable to change their minds.

We were, and are, always of the opinion that competition is good in the marketplace.

However, it is what it is, and so the 7th January 2020 is the last day you can use phone2park in Wellington.

We strongly encourage you to run down your accounts, as this is the best option for all parties.

There is a significant administrative cost to refunding accounts which we reluctantly have to pass on.

So after the 1st of February 2020 the cost of account closures will be $5.00.

If the account balance is less than the closure fee, then there is no refund. However, the full balance is always available for parking in Wellington City until, and including, 7th January 2020.

Phone2park will offer account refunds for outstanding balances for a period of 3 months from 7 January 2020, i.e. until close of business Tuesday 7th April 2020. After that, remaining account balances will be forfeit.
